Turkey Day workouts!

Today is a  TURKEY TROT DAY EXTRAVGANZA!  I’ve worked my butt off, and hopefully my metabolism is  revved up and gonna keep on burning  for the rest of the day!

Phys-Ed, my gym, offered some AWESOME classes in their Turkey Trot  this morning!  I did a 30 minute Power Pump class with Sam, and a 30 minute Bosu class with Jamie.  I passed on Bob’s 30 minute Boot camp to do a 30 minute elliptical workout.  I adore my gym.. I never feel intimidated  when I try things I’m not sure I can do.  They show me modifications, and always, ALWAYS encourage PERSONAL best!   I LOVE Phys-Ed!

I also decided to join in the virtual 5K hosted by  A Journey to Thin!

Today, after all those classes, I did 1.61 on the elliptical, photo

then came home and  did another 1.73 mile walk around our neighborhood!

(my phone wasn’t charged, so once I got home I drove my route to see how far I went)

So all together it was 3.34 miles!

I’ll be wearing my pedometer all day, too, my goal is 11,000 steps, and I know I’ll make it!

I have SO much to be Thankful for this year.  Yes, I am thankful for my family, whom I love with all my heart, and my friends, who are a HUGE support to me, but I’m also thankful for finding a gym that  empowers and enables me keep going! Most of all, I’m thankful for finding the strength to take that first step,  then another, then another—to walk into the gym, attend that first class (Zumba!!), pick up that first weight, and finding the inner resolve that I CAN do this, I AM worth it, and that  I WILL succeed.   I went from not being able to walk the 1/4 mile to the stop sign to walking/jogging a 5K.  There is nothing that can stop me. nothing that can hold me back, because I found MY true strength.  I BELIEVED could- and I did, and I will!

And THAT is something to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving!
