I was thrilled and excited to bring a group of my Blog pals to a taping of The Revolution yesterday. It’s so awesome to meet people that you only know through comments and interactions online.
Nearly 30 of us met up in New York City to watch The Revolution!
Why are we all dressed up? Because at 4:45 I read an e-mail telling me that there was a production change and guess what? We all have to wear COCKTAIL CLOTHES! It was A pre-Oscar show!
We took up half the room. and over half the large side of the studio!
What I love about this photo is that it shows how many people believe in the message of The Revolution- and my blog, actually- That losing weight and getting fit is a journey- one step, one little victory at a time. Those little victories add up to a HUGE victory! And I honestly rarely weigh myself, as I am really counting on those little victories to keep me going.
I think that one of the most important things that will help you lose weight is SUPPORT. I know that I have leaned on the support of my friends, family, my Mamavation Sistahood, and my blog readers for support and motivation. Sometimes just that one person saying “You can do it, I believe in you” is the difference between success and failure. That’s why The Revolution speaks to so many people. The Hero’s have MILLIONS of people cheering them on! How motivating is that! That would keep me kicking butt!
(I’d totally LOVE to be a Revolution Hero- just in case anyone from The Revolution is reading.. ya’ll can tweet them and tell them I should be a Hero at #therevolution! …just sayin’).
You have to choose to make changes and differences in your life to make it better. No one can force you to change, YOU have to want it .”
Change is actually a choice, to be something different you have to DO something different.” – Dr.Tiffanie
I never thought I’d be writing about myself, much less posting photos of myself online and on my personal Facebook wall, but I had to face up to the fact that I needed to make changes so that I could live my life the way I want. Actually, in order to CONTINUE to live, period– because continuing the way I had been going was killing me. I came up with a plan, and while it’s not perfect, it’s working, slowly. I know I can’t do it alone, so I look for support when I need it (anyone a nutritionist??) . Together with my family and friends, and the support I get at my online weight loss sorority Mamavation– (where there is ALWAYS a sista around to talk to) I am making strides. I finally decided to trust in myself.
I know that I’ve said that The Revolution helped my own Revolution, and I’m happy that it’s helped me reach out to others and hopefully inspire them to keep going on their own journey.
You gotta MAKE IT WORK, PEOPLE! (I love Tim Gunn)
What kind of things do you want to do to make your own Revolution?
