Put A Little HAPPY In Your IN-BOX

April 8, 2016

It’s Kitten Season!

It’s the time when our shelter, Animal Welfare Society is full with pregnant Momma Cats, Mommas and their nurslings and orphan kittens. We do all we can to help out all the sweet kitties that we can- and to be honest, I’m about to be awash in MORE baby kitties in my house, as a foster Mom. All this caretaking is a lot of work, and Kittens and their Queens do require a few things to be kept healthy and happy until they get ready to go to their fur-ever homes. so I’m hosting a KITTEN SHOWER to celebrate the pitter patter of little paws!

I think ALL mothers should be called Queens, not just Momma cats! Don’t you agree?

An online kitten shower is when you order stuff online and send it to directly to the shelter! Easy peasy! You can go to my Amazon Wish List and order directly through it- it’s set up to ship to Animal Welfare Society. The list has things like food, dry food, kitten milk, litter, toys, blankets and few other things that are always used at the shelter. You can see the wish list here:

Of course, we can always use cash donations as well- all these babies and Mommas need health care, spaying and neutering. You donate right through Paypal with the donate button below.

So far, just this year I’ve taken in Tilly- she delivered 5 kittens, and they moved into my friend Maggie’s house so I could make room for Naomi and her daughter, Wynonna. Wynonna had 4 sweet babies, and Naomi is due any second now with what looks like eleventy billion kittens.

It’s exhausting. It’s stinky. It can be scary, and sometimes sad, but it is also awesome, hilarious and touching, and one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. As soon as those babies and Mommas are spayed and go home- I’m sure to get at least one more, if not two more Mommas to help. I’ll share precious pics of the new babies with you! You can follow along on all my social streams to the hashtag #KittenWatch and you’ll see how many kittens we have going on!

I hope you’ll support our Kitten Shower, and follow along on Twitter, Facebook , and Instagram for updates on the #Kittenwatch!

We actually have 8 cats- all but 2 off the street. When we got Cookie, she had one kitten with her (we named her Boo Boo.) We don’t know what happened to the rest of her kittens. We were only supposed to foster them- then we realized that Cookie was pregnant. One morning, we came down to find that she had her kittens- 6 of them! We kept them until they were old enough to get fixed & took them to Petsmart to get spayed/neutered & for adoption. But we ended up keeping Cookie, Boo Boo, & two of her babies. God bless you and thank you for being there to help- so many cats need it! I don’t have a lot of money- but if I can, I’ll be sure to try & get you something from Amazon or donate, even if it’s a couple dollars here & there. Reply
